Examine the current status of social justice activism, the media’s role and the notion of “slacktivism.” Rhonda Y. Williams, PhD, Founder and Director of the Social Justice Institute at Case Western Reserve University, and a distinguished panel that includes civil rights attorney James L. Hardiman, local activist Rachelle Smith, The Fixers producer Kate Sopko, and textual activist/entrepreneur RA Washington discuss the effectiveness and reach of modern-day activism while imagining new ways forward. (Includes admission to This Light of Ours: Activist Photographers of the Civil Rights Movement, so event-goers are encouraged to arrive early to explore the exhibition.)
